I bought this over a month ago in connection with the purchase of a new door (garage/back door). Installed just a week ago. I can't say if it was easy to install because I had a shop where I bought a door to install it. However, I am disappointed with the locking mechanism. On one side it seems to hold up well, on the other it doesn't. I don't know if I got a defect or not. The cat can force the corner to move to the side. She can't get past it right now, but I'm sure it's only a matter of time before it breaks. Weak because of the castle. I wanted hard plastic so I bought this one so I'm happy. I liked the way he looked. The weather protection seems to be good. Good size for my cat and my chihuahua. But if you need a strong lock I would recommend something else. I am very disappointed in this purchase. Hopefully if it fails I can find a better product in the same size. I do not recommend.
