Review on πŸ”Œ Versatile USB C Adapter for MacBook Pro/Air - MOKiN 9-in-1 Hub with HDMI, Ethernet, USB 3.0, PD Charging, SD/TF Card Reader by Jeff Bourke

The USB-C PD port only supports power, not data.

Good product - was looking for a way to add a USB-C port to my M1 MacBook Air. The description and questions were a bit ambiguous about what the two USB-C ports can do. I found that the port labeled "Power" only works for power (not data). The port labeled USB-C is for data only (not power). This solved my problem. I currently have: Internet cable in the Internet connection. Label printer, scanner, and DisplayLink device connected to the USB-A ports, smart card reader connected to the USB-C port, the power adapter that came with the MacBook to the power port, and a connected HDMI monitor. to the HDMI port. This leaves my Time Machine USB drive homeless so it plugs into the second USB port on the MacBook Air. The device does not heat up.

Pros
  • USB-C Hub: The Macbook Pro HDMI adapter lets you connect to a display or TV to output 4K video. With three USB ports, you can charge your devices by connecting an external hard drive. There is also a 1000Mbps Gigabit RJ45 Ethernet port, TF and Micro SD card readers, and two USB-C ports for charging PDs. All hub ports can work at the same time, small but powerful.
Cons
  • Sad hardware
