I bought this steamer because my wool hats were shriveled from sweat. I also have a couple of western style hats that had to be re-molded and adjusted after years of abuse. The steam cooker has a very high quality finish and is supplied as a complete set. You fill a plastic bottle with distilled water and put it in the block. The bottle has a non-return valve to prevent spills. After switching on, steam is available after approx. 2-3 minutes. I've had no trouble using the device to resize and shape my hats and it produces plenty of vapor. Please note that this is not a toy and should not be used by children without adult supervision. Steam can easily burn you if your hands are too close to the nozzle. In addition, if you want to change the size of the hats, you need to buy a hat stretcher. I bought this from Killer Hats and it works fine.
