Provides excellent sun protection from the intense Florida sun. The brim is stiff enough to sit flat and has a crease so it can be folded in half for storage. The brim is wide enough that it effectively blocks the sun from my ears and neck though it depends on head angle. To improve back of neck cover I use the mesh face cover piece. It's a bit short but using the longer solid cape in the back makes me too warm.My only complaints are that I'd like to see a stiffer top portion over the head to keep some air space above the top of my head. I'd also like the attachment points for the cape to be further back from the head so it doesn't sit directly against your skin, making it more comfortable and allow better airflow.But otherwise excellent hat and great value for money.
