Gerbils loved it! It lasts much longer than normal toilet paper rolls. About the time I threw one into their habitat, if I was late, they'd grab the walls of their den with their paw to get my attention, and then when I put them down they'd rush to the drink carrier to chew . . With 45 in a pack they lasted about 6 weeks at one a day. Her teeth were in good condition and I didn't notice any difference in her health before, during or after chewing. Additionally, they were interested in scrambling over bumps and indentations in the surface when trying to chew at different angles. However, I haven't seen them on sale in a while so I hope they stock up and continue to sell the same cup holders of excellent and safe quality.
