Important: This is actually a DOUBLE sync cable (as the name of the product suggests) ie it is Y-shaped with ONE end for the camera body and TWO ends for TWO Ikelites -Stroboscopes. The product image incorrectly shows a different cable that can only connect a flash to the camera body. In other words, if you have an Ikelite body (with an Ikelite-style lightning connector) and TWO Ikelite strobes, this cable is for you! If you only have one flash, you need the one pictured here, not this one. (This is the TTL version of the cable, denoted by a small blue stripe around the end of the camera cable. The TTL version is sold elsewhere. If you don't know what TTL stands for, I would respectfully recommend that you purchase this product nothing for you. This is for "through the lens" metering, meaning the flash output is automatically adjusted for the correct exposure based on the amount of light the camera "sees" through its lens.all* are TTL compatible .) The item itself has only one purpose - to connect two Ikelite branded TTL strobe lights to an Ikelite branded underwater camera body - and it does that very well. Note that in the middle of the cable where the cable splits is a large cylindrical block of plastic that is 1" in diameter and 1" long. I don't think it's a big problem underwater. (Photos can be viewed on the manufacturer's website). By the way, if it helps you: I use mine for TTL with a DS-160 and a DS-161 and it works great.
