Update - After 5 weeks of use, the device is no longer recognized by my PC. This worked, but there were always some issues with screen transitions (moving an app from the laptop to an external display), so I ran the laptop and this device at 1440x900, which seemed to help. This week I started seeing intermittent operation (connecting and disconnecting frequently) for a short period of time, followed by a complete failure. I can let it cool down for 10 minutes and try again and it will be recognized but soon fail in a minute or less. Same result on 2nd PC. It's dead. Previous review - couldn't be happier, bought a customer return to save a few bucks. Some reviews reported terrible results and I was a little nervous. The manufacturer cannot develop a design for every application. Everything is pretty standard for me, so I took a chance. I have a new Dell Latitude laptop with Windows 10 and an old Gateway Dual VGA/DVI LCD monitor. This worked without any problems on a VGA port with 1440 x 900. As soon as I connected the device without connecting the VGA cable, the laptop beeped, recognized the port and configured it. I added a cable. Dell immediately appears in "duplicate" mode, no need to press the function key to turn on the second monitor. I then configured the display "Extension" and everything works great.
