Considering how cheap this item was, it does indeed work. I bought this based on reviews and it seems to work well for a lot of people, but it didn't quite work for me. My beard is stubborn and no matter what products I use or what I try to keep it clean, it always retains a "roughness" that I know is more about me. Though he straightened it out a bit, it seemed to act more as a volume giver. As far as using it on my hair, it worked very well. It was quick and it also makes your hair soft. In addition to my personal experience, there are a few downsides. * It heats up slowly. I think every time I've used it it's taken 7-10 minutes to reach full temperature. Luckily, I have a bathroom countertop that can handle a lot of heat when laid flat.
