My Grandma had made a sock monkey for me as a child. I bought this little guy as a 1st birthday present for my great niece. I very loosely wrapped it in layers of tissue paper for her to tear apart and when she got it open and took one look, pure joy! Her little face LIT UP, she grinned from ear to ear [like the monkey] and planted a big kiss on those big red lips! That little monkey goes everywhere with her now. I like how soft it is and bought it because of its smaller size [perfect for itty-bitty hugs]. Great toy.
