Refers to a lighter/warmer brown to brown. Good looking and comfortable rider (received some compliments and good shoes for fall in warmer climates but they're not as soft as other Cole Haan riders. I was expecting a little more cushioning but they're pretty hard on the ground. Still comfortable and good choice but if you are looking for a softer ride then this might not be the best choice. Also I was a little worried about the suede because I was sure it would contaminate every drop of liquid but I did spill some on them, and they've stood the test of time in the range (mainly water and coffee) and it fits well. A smaller size would also work because they give a little if you break them.
