Review on πŸ”Š Altec Lansing iM600 Black Firewire-Charging Portable Audio System for iPod by Angela Mason

Revainrating 4 out of 5

GREAT sound - Built in battery - Really good product

I bought this in September 2007 and lived (and enjoyed) it for about a year. I first bought this as a gift for our nanny to take to college. I was so impressed with the size and sound that I had to buy one. By the way, she said last year that she liked school too. Pros: Incredible sound. Built-in Li-ion battery (No more buying and carrying "D" size). The FM tuner is also a very useful feature. Cons: Nothing to talk about. It would be nice if there was a case, but I bought a nice inexpensive case for a portable DVD player that fits well and works like it was made for it. This portable system is just amazing. The sound defies its size and is head and shoulders above its competitors (I've had 1 other). The closest in quality is the Klipsch, but this device adds a folding function, FM, and a lithium-ion battery (surprising how much it's used away from the kitchen table). the device doesn't have AM (when no other device even has a radio) or gives it a lower rating because it doesn't have a headphone jack (why would you plug your iPod into a speaker system just to plug in headphones? - FLASH NEWS - Your iPod has a headphone jack). Anyway, if you're in the market, go to Best Buy (or any other electronics store) and just listen. I think you will see and hear why everyone who has it is delusional.
