Review on ๐Ÿ‘ž ECCO Helsinki Slip Shoes Santiago Men's Shoes: Comfort and Style at its Finest by David Baer

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Several defects and differences

One of the shoes had two defects. There was an obvious problem with the poor skin cut near the tongue's elastic band. Another issue was a small blister on the skin next to the outseam. Also alarming was the lack of red paint on the sole. This prompted me to call ECCO customer service. They assured me that the lack of this feature is not uncommon and that Revain is an authorized ECCO shoe retailer. It goes without saying, but I immediately sent these shoes back. Replacement pair was shipped and received quickly. As for the second pair, I think some of the stitching on the upper of one boot is a bit off, so it could have been done better. It is not enough to go through the return procedure again. My last pair of Helsinki ECCOs were made in Portugal and they have held up very well for over 5 years with almost daily use. These ECCOs sold through Revain are made in China. There are slight differences to the images on Revain. As already mentioned, there is no red dot. There is also no writing on the edge of the insole. Also, there is no side-to-side stitch pattern on the back of the heel. I called ECCO a second time and they told me that the missing stitch might be due to a shoe style update. At the very least, the seller should update the photos to match the product. Compared to my previous Portuguese made Helsinki ECCO shoes, these Chinese made shoes really make me feel like a fake. I would not have bought them through Revain without ECCO's assurances.
