We got a mini cot for our second child as our eldest was still in the cot. I couldn't find a mattress hard enough for a mini bed; I was always afraid that the baby would suffocate on the softer mattress. At first I thought this crib had coils, but I soon found that wasn't the case. However, this mattress is very hard for a foam mattress and the baby really likes to sleep in his crib now.
