I bought this tracker to keep track of my independent elderly mother who doesn't have a smartphone. I downloaded the app to my smartphone and simply set up the tracker with their information. After setting it up in the app, I took the tracker to her house and completed the setup outside of her house (as instructed). Then I just put it in a small carrying case and attached it to her keychain. In the app I was able to attach her photo to the tracker and add her home address. I then selected notifications for this so I know when she left the house and when she returned home. You can add as many tracking locations as you like and notifications will be sent for as many locations as you have set up. I don't want to follow her every step; However, it also allows you this option. Whenever I know she's not home, I can see where she is on the map. I also know how much battery her tracker has left so I know when to plug it in and charge it. There is also an SOS button on the front of the tracker. So if an emergency arises, she can simply press and hold the button until the beep sounds. Then he automatically texts me that she needs urgent help. I can then open the map and see exactly where it is and call for help as soon as possible. It gave me comfort and peace of mind knowing that she was safe when she was out and about. I recommend this tracker to everyone!
