Great all-purpose tool

I'm very happy with this little flashlight. True, that's not the brightest light in my collection. However, it's the brightest for its size, and that's where it's most useful. It's good to set the light exactly how you want it when you're in a controlled environment like a photo studio or even a room in your own home. Being able to adjust the light how you want it while still being portable is a whole other thing and this lantern is great for that. When I received it, it came out of the box with about 75% battery so I could start testing right away. Discharging the battery to zero takes a couple of hours - pretty much what I'd expect from LED panels - and fully charging from zero takes a few hours longer. However, if you use a portable power bank, you can use it while charging. The light itself is bright enough to illuminate the area directly in front of the camera, and the brightness is continuously adjustable from 0% to 100% in 1% increments. You can also adjust the color temperature in 100K increments from 2800K (giving you "warm" or "yellowish" white light) to 8500K (similar to bright daylight with a blue sky). The kit also includes a soft rubber diffuser that softens the light significantly. However, my favorite element is that it not only has a cold shoe base (allowing it to attach to almost any camera), but also three cold shoe mounts. This creates a wonderful modular design where you can either stack several of these lights (vertically or horizontally) or attach other equipment such as a directional microphone. I didn't expect that this lamp would bring me so much joy. But now that I have it, I'm a complete convert. This will be a frequently used addition to my collection.
