Moved from MacBook Pro 15 2022 (16 GB RAM, 512 HDD) to Air 8 GB RAM, 512 GB. I do not regret the change, really Air on M1 is a force. Some pros: Lightweight laptop, holds a charge for a very long time, works faster than MBP 15 2022 with external vidyuha. Two external monitors (not 4K) pull without problems (MBP 2022 always warmed up and made fan noise even without any complicated calculations.) Attachments open multiple times, even downloading files seems to be faster. You can run applications for iOS (at least those that provide such an option) actively using MiHome from your computer. With its cons. Several times I noticed friezes in situations where a lot of complex apps are open (Figma, mail with hundreds of letters, YouTube videos, Excel, a bunch of contributions to Safari, Chrome in the background, telegrams, etc.) At such moments, the old MBP 2022 spun the fan and began to slow down, while Air freezes for a couple of seconds. It is treated by curbing appetites and closing unnecessary apps. Still, Air is not made to replace the firmware, it does not even have active cooling.
