Worked great!

I redid the floor in my house and also ripped out the rough carpet from the stairs to the basement. I wanted to try and paint the stairs to match the floor. I didn't use the entire template, just parts to try and match it to the vinyl plank. It definitely gave the stairs a nice wood grain look and nobody noticed that I painted them and they don't really match the vinyl.
