We moved to a new house and were worried about the dog scratching our new doors. I bought 3 of these in total. I think the dog only scratched her once. For some reason he's really crazy about them and doesn't like scratching them. So I think they serve their purpose! They can cause headaches when boarding and disembarking. On the plus side, they also serve as a kind of buffer to keep the pup from slipping between the legs. I tried to take photos but frosted glass can be difficult to photograph. The first 2 photos should be the kitchen door. On this one I had to cut the right side down because the counter is next to the door. The plastic is thick so I couldn't attach the part to the door without trimming. I also had to trim the floor of the kitchen and the side doors. I didn't do this on the front door, so my handles are probably at different heights. After trimming, the plastic doesn't sit straight and leans against the handle and hugs the body. I tried trimming the other side to align it but that didn't work. In the picture of the kitchen you can see how the plastic is moving away from the door. I wasn't sure if it was the handle or what. The last two pictures are the side door. The guard also ducked toward the side door. I couldn't hold it against the door due to the weight, so I cut a hole in the top to let the latch out. I couldn't find my packing tape so it's currently held together with tape which doesn't look the best. If he had stayed on his feet if I hadn't cut him I probably wouldn't have worried. I was thinking of cutting the top off now as the dog isn't itchy, but I'm lucky he started doing it right over that spot! Overall it has worked for me. They aren't the best and I hope they don't stay forever. We figured they would come down once the pup got used to the famous house and then stay in the basement if we ever got a new dog. Definitely worth spending money on these instead of a door!
