Nice little radio! Fits well and sounds great!

I used the emergency radio during the Oregon fires and got used to listening to the radio. The reception on the emergency radio is not nearly as good as on this radio. The emergency radio has its pros and cons - I like that it has an internal battery and a power handle. This radio requires two AA batteries (not included) and there is no internal rechargeable battery. Actually I like this option more because with rechargeable batteries you need to have the necessary energy to charge them. This radio relies entirely on user-supplied batteries and I only have a good supply of AA batteries. I'm impressed that it sounds really good for such a small size of 4.5 inches high, 2.5 inches wide and 1 inch thick! I like the display with big numbers. I had no trouble turning the dials on the side. It has a telescopic antenna and stands well, if not very thick. The voice quality is fantastic for such a small radio. I like to turn the volume down and it's audible at low volume. The volume gets really loud and I never turn it up to full volume. If you have hearing problems this is a good choice for you as the volume ramps up very loud and is still very clear (no interference) at high volume. You can also use standard in-ear headphones with this radio. AntennaThe antenna is extendable and designed for FM radio reception. You don't need to extend the antenna for AM radio. There is an internal magnetic antenna. For AM, you can turn the direction of the radio to improve reception. I am very happy with this radio.
