Review on Lokar 70 BAF3 Rectangular Aluminum Sliding by Jon Garcia

Revainrating 1 out of 5

Very, very disappointing.

I have bought several Lokar products over the years. They were well designed and beautifully made; too expensive, but the high quality justified the price in my opinion. I expected another quality product from Lokar. Although the price of this product is certainly high, the quality leaves a lot to be desired, to say the least. There are four seams. The three seams are blind sewn and then sewn up. The fourth is sewn only with a blind seam, and the difference is noticeable, spoiling the overall look. First impression - "You forgot to flash that seam". But you may have noticed that the topstitching on the rest of the seams was done poorly. The aluminum upper frame was up to typical Lokar standards, but the rest of the boot is far from in the same league. Fine padding features straight stitching in straight sections and evenly curved stitching where required. If there are several seams next to each other, they are parallel. On the boot I received the top seam was neither straight nor parallel. I wouldn't be surprised if the shoe I received was the very first made by the person who made it. It should have been thrown away as unacceptable quality. The fact that it was shipped and subsequently sold to the customer indicates poor quality control on the part of Lokar and I am very disappointed.
