I have a small head, hat size 6.75-7.5 depending on my hair. The size of the crown should always be low otherwise it has to cover some of my ears or be sloppy at the top of the hat to make it fit. At the moment my hair is longer and mostly "forward" but still as coarse/small as possible, I couldn't get it thin enough and it still felt frizzy. I thought the elastic was too stretched and I know it will stretch too much over time, but at first the stitching was torn from the elastic. In hindsight, maybe that's why the band always felt uninhibited. I was going to return it as I only wore it a couple of times before it ripped but instead I sewed it back together to fix it and make it smaller. fitted textured hat in pictures. I like that the edge doesn't protrude too much. It's only slightly longer than a standard baseball cap, so it doesn't look silly in that regard. The nylon material that makes it waterproof bubbles up a bit when wet, but dries well. It is not waterproof and requires hand washing. It will wrinkle if stored folded for a long time. It has creases that may never get over my little head. However, this folding hat style is hard to beat.
