These are definitely table top chairs and would look great on a kitchen counter. I ordered to use in my informal dining room at a 54 inch high table. I ordered 4 but their lower back made them look like midgets next to my desk but the dilemma was that I liked the chair (sturdy, well constructed, comfortable, attractive). ). I decided to order two more chairs, leaving one at each end of the table and placing two on the sides. It changed the look a lot. Chairs now hold the size of a table. :)
