The stylus just slides on the screen glass, not the fan

I've used a stylus with my iPhone and iPad for years. along the top of my screens unless I press hard! The rubber feels old and hard but feels soft. The pen has black ink and seems to write well but the main reason I bought it is is the stylus. i'm not a fan
