Nice and warm. In fact I can lighten the base coat I use with them unless it's REALLY cold outside. This is my go-to when the temp drops, drops and I know I need to wrap up. And my downside is half-joking but serious: most base layers seem like you're running out of enough static electricity to light up a building. . However, this will be a disadvantage with almost every piece of clothing. When it's cold enough, there's no avoiding it. That's a fair deal. I'm warm while wearing it (in fact I'm wearing it right now, on a cold, cold day outside) and that's the main thing.
