I bought some smaller lights to provide basic lighting for YouTube videos, work and family and chose this fixture to up my game. Talk about an update! The money I spent on this made my purchases of the little lanterns I used look like toys! This thing makes some serious light and my video looks like I went up 5 steps. Brightness and warmth are adjustable on the back or you can quickly install the GVM Easy app following the decent instructions that come with it and control it from your mobile device. This makes it pretty easy to set up the lighting in a dimmable room (like my basement lol) and you can keep track of your settings and get really great recuts of things you missed that look like they were carved in one continuous flow and that's where I've had issues in the past (smaller lights just can't be stabilized and retuned like you can with this baby) - my videos definitely look more professional with this light. I wish I had bought this one first (and now I can get a second one). I didn't have the option of using a rechargeable battery (requires 2 NP-750s which are not included), but the included cable and DC-to-DC converter are sufficient for all-day use in my application anyway. The connector makes it easy to mount the light on a stand and the barn doors and their pitch are easy to move yet stay in place easily. A bonus was that it also comes with a nice carry case, which is semi-rigid and more than adequate to protect the device when I take it with me. Pro tip: On Android, when you connect to Wi-Fi in the light, my phone jumps to the best Wi-Fi signal in the house and the app stops connecting to the light. I later noticed that when I reconnected to the device, I got a popup that said "don't ask me again" and I was able to stay connected to Wi-Fi (which my phone thinks is a bad network) in the light and it just works like a charm.
