Review on Rocketfish Full Motion Wall Mount Flat Panel by Ashley Rogers

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Great TV mount to match TV accessories

I already have one of these so if I need to hang another TV on the wall in another room why not get the same one? a third of the price you might pay, but at least half the best selling price. Product: supports most standard vesa mount types, i just put a 40" led tv (25lbs) on this mount and it holds great, this mount holds up to 60lbs, my 60" plasma weighs 66 lbs, so you can get an idea of how much the TV weighs. This mount tilts up and down and side to side with full motion. I use them when I'm sleeping in bed, and even when I'm across the room on my elliptical, I just move them away from the wall (about 10 inches) and rotate them so I can see it during my workout. good and looks and feels solid, quality product 5/5. A really great design in this product is the location of the mounting holes, there are only two and they are vertical so you only need to find a stud in the wall to install it. uses two screws for stud mounting, not sure if they are included or not but you can get them at any hardware store, make sure you get screws rated for 100lbs or more to be on the safe side be, and you can find a stud on the wall by doing one of the following: Try a magnet and run it along the wall until it sticks. If you have metal studs you can pierce them, if your studs are wood you can simply tap the wall with your knuckle until the sound changes from muffled to muffled, if you live in a new house the studs should be 16 inches (center to center) in the wall, measure 16 inches left and right of the nearest light switch on the wall (the switch housing is mounted on a post in the wall, it is either to the right or left of the post so you can know for sure the first post is there), mark a small cross on the wall at both markers and tap to go, if it sounds hollow, the duller sound should be a hairpin. If your home is older, the studs can be spaced 24 inches apart. You can buy anchor bolts that will hold the TV to the wall by just going through the drywall, but I wouldn't do that, it's too risky! Don't be afraid to do it yourself, it's easy, you can also run the cable from the box into the wall behind the TV, nobody sees from behind there, so it doesn't have to be pretty, just run a level the wall from the cable outlet and make a small hole and fish for a cable you can!, A panel on the wall costs about $2. much luck! :)
