Review on Peak Design Everyday Backpack Black by Lacey Barbee

Revainrating 4 out of 5

The best simplicity in bags, cases and cases

Update 3/3/2020:====================== == == ============== I deduct 4 stars for the following reasons: - Comfort: could be improved. Good for short trips but I think a full day of walking will put more strain on my back/shoulders than other bags. Maybe the way I wrapped it, but the way it lays on the back is a bit different. - Utility: side access / flaps don't open as far (wide) as v1. Therefore, pulling out the camera requires much more force (and caution!) ================================== = = == Initial review: Interested in the ZIP version since it was announced. Looks cleaner, a few hundred grams lighter. Improved shoulder straps - the old version of the Everyday Backpack really dug into my shoulder after a while. The only downside is that it doesn't have the expandability that a regular daypack with a flap (and poles) does. Aesthetics - 10 Subjective, but I really like the simplistic look of lightning. I'm 5'10" tall and slim and the bag doesn't feel too big or small when carried high. Just right. Utility - 9 Almost the same as the regular version. Think I'd have one easy access external pocket but I've learned to get around A raincoat pocket would be nice too Durability - 9 Refill is only two months old but is holding up well so far (black version) Any scuffs/stains can be easily wiped away with a damp Remove cloth I know ash holds up better but black is still good Place is 9 This is an overall variable as we will all have different needs/gear I have two bodies - a6600 + 24GM and A7R IV + 135GM .I tucked them vertically (separators in between) at the bottom of the bag.* I reserved the top as one large pocket for various items For space reasons, a regular backpack would probably be better, especially when traveling when my wife and I tend to take an item or two with us. , but you can get them for 10% off or so on affiliate links. Aesthetically I find them better than pretty much anything out there. There are other attractive bags from other brands, but they tend to be too heavy (e.g. Lowepro Freeline). Overall I would happily recommend the 20L Zip.

Pros
  • bags, cases and cases
Cons
  • poorly thought out
