Apart from these stands, you do not need any other stands. I was afraid they would look cheap but they really aren't; they just look very inconspicuous. They are durable, absorbent and soft so they won't scratch the table. I'm tired of the ceramics that scratch the table and drip liquid, the leather ones that are slippery or stick when you drink, and all the fancy ones that don't work as well as a reasonable cork. They do their job really well without being noticed and they are so cheap that you don't have to worry about them if something happens like they get lost or broken.
