Because the shelf is held up by a piece of wood that is on the right side of the shelf, the shelf may tip over if something heavy enough is placed on the left side. I wouldn't buy it again because of this, but love the aesthetic and the look of the light wood against the white. Note: I have two 5" plants on one shelf, plus a large crystal + stand and a 4" plant on the other shelf. I wouldn't add any more weight to this and I find the shelf already too heavy with 5" pots. I have plants on the right side of the shelf to keep it from tipping over. **UPDATE 11/19/2020** 5 months later: The shelf started tipping so badly that some of the grow jars I had on them slipped off the end of the shelf and fell. The shelves are light weight objects - five small 4" tall and 3" wide glass propagation containers with plant cuttings. Very disappointed that it Didn't last long. I removed them and replaced them with more durable shelves. Too late to return.
