Review on πŸ’» Mac-Compatible Keychron K8 Tenkeyless Wireless Mechanical Keyboard - Bluetooth RGB Backlight, Multitasking Type-C Wired Gaming Keyboard for Windows - Gateron Blue Switch, Aluminum Frame by Joseph Reed

Revainrating 3 out of 5

I can't comment on its durability but so far it seems to be a great TKL.

I'm not familiar with Keychron and wasn't sure I could trust its quality but decided to give it a try and see how it works. I chose the Gateron Blues because I'm used to tapping on it and it still performs well on this board. Build quality is good and it's a heavy board which gives me hope that it will last a long time. Starting from the Anne Pro II (which I still have but is my travel keyboard now), this is a very worthy replacement. However, there are three things I would like to warn you about if you are considering buying this. First, the keycaps are untextured and feel a little "slick" for lack of a better term. It's not bad, just different than what I'm used to, but they don't feel cheap. It's not a big deal as you can always trade them in for a different set or even your favorite set from the board it replaces. Second, it's a noisy board. I don't know if it's the aluminum case or if the circuit board sits in a recess here, but keystrokes reverberate a lot louder than my other keyboard. It's not bad, and if you love the blues sound, you probably don't care about the noise, but this is a warning for those with sensitive partners, roommates, or neighbors :) After all, this board sits high. If you don't have a wrist device, you can invest in one. All this to say that I rate the board highly and as long as it lasts I will recommend it to others.
