This electric blanket is perfect for watching TV on cold winter evenings. As other reviewers have said, it doesn't get exceptionally hot. However, it will be warm enough to keep out the cold. I'm happy with that. The bottom is a soft beige sherpa and the outside is a very soft plush gray fabric. The wires run through the entire ceiling, so the entire surface is saturated with heat. The controller has 3 heat settings (low, medium and high) and the cord is nice and long (about 10 feet I think). 50 x 60 inches I can share with my husband if we sit next to each other. And I like the auto shut off after 4 hours. If I forget to turn it off, it turns itself off. A very good feature.
