what you see is what you get
I used to use 2 by 4 to temporarily hold the cameras but it doesn't disappoint. The body is made of aluminum, so it is very light and easy to assemble. The hollow body offers enough space to be able to pull out the plugs easily. The mounting plate is steel, so it's difficult to remove. I drilled a whole new jig into one of mine to install 2 cameras. It's tight but they fit and the camera braids were long enough to reach the back of the body joints and assembly was a breeze for me. I'm just generally happy with what I use it for. There are several mounting schemes for large cameras. It's very stiff and light.
