After reading all the reviews, I was torn between buying or giving it away. I bought it for my wife's birthday for our living room where she turns on my surround sound and dances with her friends. she loves them! She loves partying at home with her girlfriends and I know girls in the 90's loved the black lights in their car and carpet so why not give her some cool lights. Setup is easy and takes about 10 minutes, even for Gen Xers like me. Put them on a switch, not a dimmer. Always keep the switch on so they don't have to re-sync. Your downloaded app is now an on/off/dimmer/color changing switch, which is both good and bad. It's great that you don't have to get up to turn it on or off and control it, but when she's not home with her phone I don't have lights, well. They work great! Any color you want, and very dark, and any white temperature you want. They can even blink to the music you're playing or pulse to change color if you like. The app has settings that you can customize and then your own lighting scenarios are just a tap away. In general, they're great for a entertaining room or bedroom, but probably not for the rest of the house. I gave them 4 stars because if you turn the light off for too long some lights lose wifi sync so you have to keep the switch on and always use the app for full control. It's a small price to pay for really cool lightbulbs, but now you know they work great, but with a catch. By the way, with the method described above, they did not get out of step. Give yourself about an hour to install and explore the app options as you will likely be overwhelmed. What are you waiting for, buy them! Update 05/26: We love the light. Everyone loves them when they see them. We haven't had any problems so far. The red LED no longer worked on 1 of the 4 lamps. Not such a big deal and once the lights go out I always buy another set to replace and keep another in my bedroom so I don't have to get up when I need to turn the lights off.
