I bought these for kayaking and they do the job perfectly. The water runs off quickly and they dry quickly. However, I've worn them on a few longer hikes that involved a lot of river crossings and were upriver in some sections. It was about 6 miles round trip and the top was rubbing my ankle to the ankle. If you're just wearing them for everyday watersports they're fine, but don't think you can drive them many miles.
