Review on Bowers & Wilkins PX7 Wireless Headphones by Hemant Hemant ᠌

Revainrating 5 out of 5

The best thing for the money, I'm glad I chose this option.

Before you buy them, you need to understand what you want to get in the end. These are the second ears, from the invoices that I have. Bayers 770Pro at 80 Ohm are more detailed, yes, but they don’t deliver such listening pleasure, however, the first ones are very convenient for audio editing, but both for listening to music and as a portable one, b&w is unrivaled. If you need merciless pounding - Beats. I compared it with Sony, Bose (in fact, there are no competitors in this price category) and I consider the B&W PX7 to be the best. To test and compare what they can use Droeloe - Homebound (1:13) - as a massive bass track, Droeloe - Facing the sea (2:20) - as a high g-drive track, Metallica - No leaf clover live (3: 10) - where there are many details, Unlike pluto - revenge and a little more (1:10) - Spanish guitar and bass. The PX7s were the best performers everywhere except for Metallica. I came home and compared it with the 770Pro, the latter sound more boring, but these just make me smile :)

Pros
  • 1. Sound, massive bass (but far from Beats, the bass is exactly as much as needed), the bass does not dampen the rest of the frequencies, but you should not expect details like on the 770Pro, however, these are not monitors, they are not in order to look for flaws in the recording and mixing, they are to enjoy listening 2. Quality materials and comfort. Yes, it’s not metal here, like in the old PX, but they are lighter and softer due to carbon, carbon itself seemed like ordinary plastic - but it’s not, look at YouTube videos on how they are bent, it’s scary to watch) fabric with some it is impregnated, it does not collect dirt, the ear pads are soft exactly as they should - not leather, but they probably will not crack, until there is even a sign of wear. The case is very strong and seems to be made of the same impregnated fabric. 3. Built-in DAC, I don’t know how they decode the bluetooth signal, but obviously it goes through the DSP like on B&W pi3. By USB, the ears are defined as a composite device, there are three options to choose from - Bluetooth Headset (this is for calls), Bluetooth Headphones (profile without a microphone) and PX7 Bowers and Wilkins (via USB). I don't think it's necessary to say that the USB sound is just bomb, although it seemed that Bluetooth was amazing, in the case of a microphone there is only one Bluetooth Microphone device. You can switch devices during playback and compare the difference between USB and Bluetooth (it exists and is not catastrophic, BUT, it’s more convenient to sacrifice quality without a wire) 4. Design.
Cons
  • There are some software flaws. 1. Stop playback when removed. With the phone - a pause, excellent. With a computer on the wire - mute, it will do. With a computer via bluetooth - it doesn’t work, it’s sad (you need to look in which tab spotify plays and pause). 2. 3.5mm without switching on does not work, it's sad, but such a circuitry.
