I had silver INK'D headphones for about a year and a half. Somewhere inside the connection broke, and the left channel started flashing as you wiggled the cord. So I threw them away and ordered a new pair. Now they are on 2.0. they must be BETTER! I lit them today, and. what happened to the bass? The old pair had impressively deep and smooth bass, which is doubly impressive for its price point. I would say the new ones are a lot more "tamed". The drivers are much more treble/high-mid and the bass seems to really taper off below 100Hz and fade away quickly. Some of the lower notes are barely audible, but it sounds kind of faint. Not even "hard", only this driver cannot play sound. And I have a hard time explaining why my brain is being pierced by excessively high frequencies. Something happened here. As they "improved" them, they made the sound much, much worse. Now they sound like a pair of headphones worth what you paid for them. In fact, I would venture to say that you can find a number of much cheaper alternatives that sound comparable. I think my search for a new pair of headphones must continue.
