I downsized and gave away my component stereo which contained some amazing Cerwin Vega floorstanding speakers. I moved into an apartment that only has room for a small, compact, feature-rich stereo system and bookshelf speakers. The speakers that came with the stereo sounded bad. I took a chance that better speakers would solve the problem and these awesome little speakers did the job. It's not exactly my old Cerwin Vega sound, but given the size and low price, it's amazing. As other reviewers have complained, the bass is tight but can be softened with separate controls for bass and treble. Overall I couldn't be happier.
