Whenever a product comes with touch-up paint included, that's 1 strike against predicted product finish quality. When the touch up paint comes crushed and leaking in the box, strike 2. When the shelf itself crumbles and falls apart during assembly, that's strike 3. This shelf should have come with earmuffs to be used on any young children around to limit their exposure to profanity during assembly and subsequent disposal. In all seriousness, this is the most disappointing example of a faux wood product that I've ever experienced.
