When I first got the bed it had a strong chemical smell that my dogs didn't like. I let it air out for three days before the smell disappeared. This bed reminds me of a bean bag. It's really comfortable. It's a good floor cushion. The bed was a cube shape when it arrived. It was too tall for my dogs and they didn't like it being this shape. I sat/laid in the bed for about 15 minutes to change the bed into a round shape and to flatten it to a height suitable for my dogs. This bed is like a king sized bed for my pom but it's like a twin for my beagle mix. I regret not buying the next size up. Measure your dog from nose to tail to determine which size would be best for your dog. I guessed based on my dogs weight which is not an accurate way to determine if the bed is big enough.
