Perfect for our needs

We recently replaced our old 32" Toshiba SDTV (which gave up after 20 years of use) with a 32" Sony HDTV. Sony's new HDTV wasn't nearly as big as our old SDTV behemoth (which was moved from the living room to the bedroom a few years ago when we bought our first big-screen HDTV). We bought this to replace a milk crate that we were using temporarily to mount a new TV to a decent height above our bedroom dresser. This stand was exactly the same height as the milk crate. The TV size limits in the included instructions state that you cannot use a TV larger than 20 inches or 60 pounds. Although I definitely wouldn't even try to put our old extremely heavy SDTV on it (it definitely weighed over 60 pounds). , our new 32-inch HDTV weighs only 12 pounds and fits on top with plenty of room (but not enough free space to make it look out of place on this stand). The upper and lower shelves are made of laminated pressboard in the form of lacquered wood, while the metal supports are made of plastic. This stand is heavier than I expected and when assembled is definitely strong enough to support a 32" HDTV. Assembly required no tools, required no instructions (it spoke for itself) and took less than 2 minutes. I was skeptical that this stand would be that good for the price, but it looks good enough that I'm glad I didn't waste the time and money it would take to build a stand like this from scratch to build new.
