Safe and get the job done.
Not bad. I have two in the basement that are open 24 hours and are cool to the touch. I wish they were a little more light sensitive. They only turn off if I open the blinds wide enough during the day. The closed blinds let in quite a bit of light, but they don't work. However, they are UL listed which makes me feel safer using them as they work so hard. Colors and brightness levels are also tolerable. I wouldn't keep them too close to my bedroom at night, but if I go to a place where they are taken in darkness in the middle of the night they don't hurt my eyes. I didn't notice the difference in my electric bill.
