Preparing for a winter trip, stock up on socks, ordered as they look very warm and comfortable. The material is durable and well tailored (knitwear?), but a little stretchier than expected. My shoe size is 9 so I ordered L-XL based on the size chart. However, given the stretch in the fabric, I suspect a SM size would be better. The socks really go over the knee and are very warm. However, due to the loose fit, tighter pants will chafe and cause them to slide down to mid-calf at the end of the day in an 80s style with ruffled socks. The ankle also swelled a little when putting on shoes and boots. I suspect most of these issues go together, but. I followed their sizing guide so they lose a star for inaccurate instructions. They are priced ok. They are very beautiful, comfortable and well made. But if you're between sizes or a size 9-9.5, order the smaller size.
