Review on Green-Handled Omega Shaving Brush with Synthetic Bristles by Tina Hall

Revainrating 4 out of 5

My everyday brush in shaving brush

Pros:* Soft bristles, doesn't irritate face* No pet hair smell* Bristle doesn't fall off* Lathers up very well* Holds LOTS of water Bad:* Because of the bristles if it's hard to understand, have you applied enough weight* Long bristles mean you have to work harder to lather* Doesn't retain heat. Is it worth buying?: Yes. This brush is a great affordable alternative to badger or boar hair brushes. I use this brush every day when I shave. The bristles are soft but stiff, which creates a comfortable feeling on the face when rubbing the foam. It massages the face very well and leaves a pleasant feeling on the face both in circular movements and when applying foam. Also, the brush holds water very well - better than any brush I've seen. When I soak it, I have to wring it out, and while I shake out the excess afterword, a lot of water still ends up in the sink. Because of this, the "Load and Wet" technique works very well and greatly reduces the time it takes to achieve a nice, smooth look afterwards. Plus, you don't have to smell badger or boar hair rubbing against your face or pull that hair out of your face. This brush is odorless and does not shed bristles. On the downside, the white bristles are the same color as many shaving soaps, making it visually difficult to tell if you've applied enough weight to the brush before lathering. It's hard just looking at your soap well and knowing you've had enough. This can be a problem with such a brush with longer bristles. Speaking of longer bristles, you'll have to put a little more effort into lathering than you would with a brush with shorter bristles. And unfortunately, like other synthetic brushes, this one doesn't retain heat for a comfortably warm lather feel. Overall I find this brush to be a very good little tool that I have used daily when wet shaving. . I would recommend it to anyone who wants to get started with a wet shave but doesn't want to spend a lot of money to get started.
