It's Getting Really Hot - Kitchen & Dining

I have mixed feelings just for planning it as a multipurpose item on my desk. I heat my drink on it in the morning and it works great - keeps it hot. This is why you have to be very careful - I was walking away from my desk and the small lotion bottle I kept on my desk fell onto the surface, and when I came back the plastic melted and the lotion covered the entire surface. Plate. It was a mess and I had to clean the grooves in the record with a toothpick so try not to spill anything on it as it's not the easiest cleanup. I was really surprised that the surface of this heater could be so hot it could melt plastic, but that was the lesson. I have another warmer that doesn't get as hot, but it doesn't keep my drinks hot either, just warm. I moved it to a different spot on my desk and it did a good job of keeping my drinks warm and during the day it keeps a small aromatherapy candle melted on the lowest setting. I find the front button a little frustrating because it's not a tactile switch and you have to cover the button with your finger to change settings so no light can be seen. So many times when I turn them off I accidentally press the button too many times and I have to scroll it again. It plugs directly into an outlet. If you're using it at a desk with limited space for an outlet, this can pose a problem as there's no USB option. It turns off after 4 hours. It's also a bit larger than I expected - it's larger than a CD and about the size of the palm of my hand with fingers spaced wide apart. So if desk space is premium, it might not be the best choice. Overall it does what I wanted so I keep using it and my drinks are very hot no matter how long it takes me to drink them.
