Strange pair of cute handbags

I can't imagine what process decided that we can carry two small handbags together and in that sense I think this pair of bags is a failure. However, each of these small bags is comfortable and well made on its own. The square bag has a belt loop on one side and a zip pocket on the other. There are card slots in the main zippered compartment. This bag features the Vera Bradley logo. The rectangular bag has a belt loop on one side and a flap with buckle on the other. There is nothing in the main zipped compartment (maybe it would be better with an inside pocket). There is no Vera Bradley logo on this bag. The elastic band is approximately 44 inches long when unstretched and of course can easily stretch a few more inches. The length can be almost halved to about 23 inches. It's a bit awkward to insert the strap into the body of bags, although the arrow-shaped buckle helps. I wonder if they should include two straps so you don't have to go back and forth. Both bags have RFID protection. And of course, it's great that they're made from recycled bottles. I needed such a bag (shoulder bag? fanny pack?) when I go for a walk with my dog in the summer and don't have any bags. For this I'll probably wear a strap around my waist and maybe use a square bag since it's a bit smaller. Again, they're fine on their own, but a set of two looks pretty weird.
