I have used this product twice and my hair looked great each time. I've always followed the instructions and never had any problems. When I used it this time, I noticed that the smell was strong and reminiscent of an alkaline perm, but I used it anyway. I followed the directions again and before I even got halfway through the application I noticed my scalp was burning. I hurried and applied the rest of the product without applying it close to the scalp as directed and brushed the product down to the ends as directed. When I washed my hair and dried it with a hair dryer, I immediately noticed that my scalp was burned. I'm a nurse and I know scalp burns. My hair was very straight, too straight and lifeless. It was very different than before. My thick, long and growing hair was DEAD. I was very angry. When I went to my stylist she had to cut my hair due to the amount of breakage and apply a deep conditioner to repair my damaged hair. My edges are badly chipped, especially at the back. Instead of the usual styling, I now have to curl my hair to hide thinning areas. I spent over $200 on a touch up and my hair is still very dry. Like I said, that's a different chemical formula, too strong.
