Martin Logan 4i does just that what you expect from ML in a column of shelves. The sound quality is excellent, the tweeters reproduce the high frequencies very well. I paired this with an 8i center channel and a 700w subwoofer. I feel like the mid-range is a bit lacking in my current setup. I'm moving the speakers around and recalibrating my receiver to see if that helps. Enjoyed watching "Bohemian Rhapsody" on ML 4i last night. The music sounded great. The balance between the 8i and the subwoofer seemed reasonable. I have an average living room size. Depending on how much sound you want to fill with the soundstage, they can be weaker depending on the setup. They are ideal for small to medium-sized rooms. , or situations where you may not have room for floorstanding speakers or are trying to maintain a minimal profile but have quality sound. Personally, I was on the budget, but I was looking for audiophile quality speakers. I would say they fit that bill. Eventually I might buy another pair as a 5.1 setup or find slightly louder front speakers and port them to surround sound. I'm still playing with placement again so I'll update the review later.
