Review on Parmida LED Downlight Replacement ETL Listed Lighting & Ceiling Fans and Ceiling Lights by Christine Dhillon

Revainrating 5 out of 5

I was expecting a linear response but it's more like an S-curve

So far every downlight I've installed in my 4" cans has had one of two problems: they buzzed or most dimly was still too bright (or both). This product has no problems. While most of the others I've tried have their darkest setting around 10% of full brightness, they seem to drop to 1%. In fact, with a Lutron Caseta dimmer (which they appear to be fully compatible with), I can adjust the brightness in one percent increments and see a difference of between 1% and 2%, which makes a world of difference when it comes to soft mood lighting goes . The adjustment clips took a bit of getting used to (you just have to turn them anti-clockwise after pressing), but they were effective. The brightness behavior is also a bit odd: setting the dimmer to 20% isn't that much brighter than setting it to 10%, neither 30% is not much brighter than 20%. However, 40% is much brighter than 30%, going from 40% to 50% and from 50% to 60% before the brightness level decreases again as you step through the remaining 10% increments. I was expecting a linear response, but it looks more like an S curve. This isn't a problem for me as I'll most likely keep it at 30% or below, but it was weird to see. At 100% brightness, these lights are really, really bright - I can't believe they're only 65 watts. are equivalent as they look more like doubles, but that's just my subjective impression. They are rated for 2700K and match the 2700K tubes I have in the next room almost perfectly. At $6.50 for the light it's a steal - I'd happily pay 2-3 times more for this near perfect product.
