These are slim board shorts that seem to dry quickly. In the summer I mostly plan to wear it over a bathing suit. I don't like my butt hanging out with my kids at the water park or pool. Definitely I would say they are true to size. I'm 5ft 3ft 125lbs and ordered a medium B/C. I have a long torso and didn't want them to be too tight. I think they look really prettier with the pleated waistband over a bathing suit and they fit so snugly. If I were wearing them with a t-shirt I would probably leave the belt as is. The waistband is elastic but the rest doesn't feel like it. especially no white piping on the edges. This part definitely doesn't stretch, so be aware that it can cut your legs a bit when you sit down. Overall I really like them and would buy them again! In fact, I might need another pair!
