Great camera but requires subscription to use all features

This camera is of very good quality. The picture is excellent and really captures a large viewing area. The automatic activation and deactivation feature is great (it is based on your geolocation). The physical size was a bit larger than I expected, but it wasn't unusually large or anything. This is a wired camera, so it should be relatively close to an electrical outlet. The power cord is quite long, giving you a reasonable distance to play. It can be wall or pedestal mounted, giving you flexibility. It has Alexa built in, but I haven't tried it with this device. I have an Ecobee thermostat and switch so I can only assume it's at least as good as the pretty decent ones. The camera is compatible with HomeKit but not currently with Secure Video. I really hope this is added in the future as it really sets this camera apart from most other cameras on the market. The night vision is excellent and works well. I've had a few false motion detection alerts, but I really think it depends on your home setup. I had a couch set up a certain way in the room where the camera was located and when it was on it would continuously alert me to movement (although there was none). For some reason he didn't like the way the sofa was oriented the way it looked, as soon as I moved it the false alarms stopped. If you want to record or view history, you'll need to sign up for their paid subscription (Haven, I think it's called). It's unfortunate, but that's what all camera manufacturers seem to do. I wish you could get at least 24 hours of recordings or something, but that's not a feature right now.

Pros
  • High marks for support and durability from testers
Cons
  • Expensive insurance
